Novel stem cell treatment to combat pediatric inflammatory response during cardiopulmonary bypass surgery

چکیده
Abstract Cardioplegia and exposure to the heart-lung machine required in cardiopulmonary bypass induce a systemic inflammatory response. Adverse effects cause longer ICU stays, higher medical costs, worsened mortality morbidity, especially neonatal pediatric populations. nCPCs have been shown regenerative anti-inflammatory properties when introduced animal studies as treatment. Surgeons at UMB performed surgery on non survival porcine subjects with control treatment group of 6 each. NDMU tested analyzed serum samples for immunological markers or interleukins. The results revealed that does seem an effect pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6. IL-6 concentrations decreased significantly from 3124 1480 pg/mL, 8319 2714 18,011 10,825 respectively. Furthermore, also has IL-10, cytokine, noted by increase 289 328 mg/mL. Overall, seems greater macrophage immune response, while it little no neutrophil are currently working subjects. Moreover, H&E staining RT-qPCR will be determine localization damage relative expression interest.

Tissue injury and the inflammatory response to pediatric cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass: a descriptive study.
BACKGROUND There are few detailed descriptions of the inflammatory response to cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in children beyond 24 h postoperatively. This is especially true for the antiinflammatory cytokines and the extent of tissue injury. The aim of the current study was to describe the inflammatory and injury responses in uncomplicated pediatric cardiac surgery with CPB,...
متن کاملSjO2/SvO2 correlation during pediatric cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass.
OBJECTIVES To compare the SjO2 (cerebral oxygenation indicator) and SvO2 (cardiac output indicator) during pediatric cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). METHODS Retrospective study. Data of SjO2 and SvO2 measured simultaneously at critical time periods during cardiac surgery with CPB were analyzed by the Spearman correlation test and Bland- Altman plot. RESULTS Regression ana...
متن کامل[Clinical profile of systemic inflammatory response after pediatric cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass].
BACKGROUND the postoperative period of congenital cardiomyopathies correction is frequently accompanied by systemic inflammatory response. OBJECTIVE To assess the frequency of occurrence and clinical manifestations of the systemic inflammatory response syndrome after cardiopulmonary bypass (SIRS-CPB) in children submitted to cardiac surgery. METHODS Historical cohort study including patient...
متن کاملSystemic inflammatory response syndrome after cardiac surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass.
OBJECTIVE This prospective study was designed to elucidate the duration of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) and the mechanisms that lead to the protraction of SIRS in patients who are operated on under cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). METHODS The duration of SIRS in 13 patients with SIRS was studied. Two groups were divided according to the duration to investigate the meaning of th...
متن کاملAnti-inflammatory response and cardiopulmonary bypass.
We read with a great interest the excellent article by Onorati and co-workers demonstrating that pulsatile cardiopulmonary bypass (PCPB) and off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) surgery markedly reduced endothelial activation and inflammatory response as compared with linear CPB [1]. What about anti-inflammatory cytokines (except interleukin (IL)-10 already investigated in this study)? Studi...
